It's the last stop on the road to WrestleMania! I'm not really looking forward to most of the matches on this show! Will it be the expected shit show or will it rise above it's poor promotion? Let's find out together!
Kickoff: Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa v. Noam Dar and The Brian Kendrick
Because god forbid we let Tozawa and Kendrick go one on one...
Grade: A, that was a lot of fun, and Alicia's participation made sense and wasn't overdone.
Sami Zayn v. Samoa Joe
Not the match I was expecting to open, but it should definitely get the crowd hyped.
Grade: B, it was a good match, but I feel like it was missing something. I dunno, almost like Sami got too much offense in?
Raw Tag Team Championship: Enzo and Cass v. The Club (c)
Speedbump on the road to WrestleMania for The Club
Grade: B, I feel like we're heading towards an Enzo and Cass split, as Enzo took most of the damage there and ate the pinfall.
Nia Jax v. Sasha Banks
I dunno, I really don't care about watching this again...
Grade: A, I think that match told a really good story, Sasha finally gets her victory over Nia, though the ending doesn't really make sense in terms of physics...
Jinder vs. ??? and Rusev v. ???
There's...really nothing here...
Grade, Jinder vs. Cesaro: B, I give them credit for making me think a couple times that Jinder might actually win
Grade, Rusev vs. Big Show: C, Sheamus was right there. And three chokeslams and a KO punch (while he's already out) were a bit much.
WWE Cruiserweight: Jack Gallagher v. Neville (c)
Anything with Gallagher is bound to be great, right?
Grade: A, good stuff from both men, Jack looks credible, Neville looks dominant, and the King reigns supreme
Roman Reigns v. Braun Strowman
Braun should win here. He won't, but he should...
Grade: B, good stuff here. Roman wins only because Braun missed the headbutt, but Braun still looks like a beast. Points off for Braun's streak ending at Roman's hands, because that does nothing for either of them.
Raw Women's Championship: Charlotte v. Bayley (c)
Here we go again, another top female being made to look like garbage for the sake of Charlotte's streak...
Grade: A, Wow! As happy as I am for Bayley, and as great as that match was, this is two curious booking decisions in a row. Ending two huge streaks back to back at the third-string PPV before WrestleMania? Odd.
WWE Universal Championship: Goldberg v. Kevin Owens (c)
Given how the rest of this show has gone, I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen here...
Grade: D, all the stalling in the world, all the Chris Jericho in the world, cannot cover up the fact that a 50-year-old man, who still has not shown us that he can have an actual match in 2017, is WWE Universal Champion.
Average Grade: B+, Everything except the main event was very good! The Universal Title match drags the average down, sadly, plus...
- New...Day Bikes...: Oh hey, we forgot to book the longest-reigning tag champs in history and the most over team in the company... Have them tease ice creams again...
- Curiouser and Curiouser: Roman Reigns ends Strowman's undefeated run for no reason whatsoever. Bayley ends Charlotte's PPV streak for no reason whatsoever, what's left to look forward to at WrestleMania?
Final Score: C+, Some strange decisions booking-wise bring us down a full letter grade, bringing Fastlane in to the finish line (see what I did there?) with a grade slightly above average.
Four weeks! I'll be back in four weeks with NXT TakeOver: Orlando and WrestleMania!
